All About Mar J. Cox

I am a collaborative, multidisciplinary artist with a background in theater and performance studies. Born into a family of artists, expression and storytelling have long been part of my engagement with the world.

My artistic approach is intersectional and community-oriented, as I aim to amplify marginalized voices in my work. I gravitate towards subject matter that centers Black, LGBTQ, and underrepresented perspectives. Among other things, I am a writer, director, filmmaker, photographer, painter, sculptor, and ethnographer.
